Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died, but the Israelites were exceedingly fruitful; they multiplied greatly, increased in numbers and became so numerous that the land was filled with them. Then a new king to whom Joseph meant nothing came to power in Egypt. Exodus 1 6-8.
My husband would haul loads for a lumber company, and take the difficult trips that no one else would take. Mary, the lady in charge of shipping, started giving my husband better loads, because he really helped her out with taking those undesirable loads. After several years of working with Mary, she got cancer, and passed away.
Janet took over in the shipping department. She gave my husband many good loads too, because Mary told her to take good care of him. Then, after a while, Janet changed jobs, and some other people started to handle the shipping. They no longer remembered the hard work, and undesirable loads my husband transported.
In time, we ended up finding new contracts and hauling for different companies.
One thing is certain, that time changes things. New people will come to power and positions.
One thing that remains the same is God. He never changes. He is constant. When things become difficult, God is a refuge and strength, and an ever present help in times of trouble.
When things change, Lord, help us to acknowledge You, so You can direct our paths and show us what to do next.
