Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him; and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:7,8
We are assured that Jesus will return. No one knows the day or the hour, because God is not willing that any should perish.
I am glad for God’s patience with us. God doesn’t work on the same time table as we do. To Him, a thousand years are like a day, and a day is like a thousand years. God gave us seasons, and nights and days, and the moon phases to measure our idea of time. I am grateful for that. I like a schedule, and to have a set standard of time, to organize activities and events by.
Since God knows we like to have a “heads up” in regards to the time, He gives us hints of what to look for, when we are getting close to His return, and an end to the earth as we know it. I wrote a few posts on Matthew 24.
If you study Prophecy, or want to know more about events that will lead up to Christ’s return, read the Bible books of Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Thessalonians, and Revelation. Other books have prophetical writings of the end times too.
I was reading about the “Son of Perdition” starting in 2 Thessalonians:2 3: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Has there been a great falling away from God? Is there someone who exalts himself above all that is called God?
How should we behave as Christians during evil times? There is some good advice in Thessalonians 1:5:14-25, Paul says, “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us”
Many times, when we read prophetical verses, they will start with a warning to not be deceived.
We need the full armor of God, and two things we need in that armor, concerning truth are the Word of God, and the Belt of Truth. When we hear the gospel, and put it in our minds and hearts, we want to hold on to it tightly! (Like a belt holds our clothing tightly around us.) We also need Salvation, Faith, Righteousness, and Feet Prepared with the Readiness of the Gospel of Peace.
When we have done all we can do, we need to stand firm in the Lord, and in His mighty power.
There are many things beyond our control. It is then, that we have to have faith and believe God will do what He says.
I have posted about the end times on several occasions. I had a recent event, where I strongly feel that we are going to experience a great catastrophic incident. Everything in the world is culminating up to an epic event. Maybe some of you can feel that too?
In my prayer time, I feel God was showing me the wisdom and knowledge that the USA has taken down defense shields, given our enemies the knowledge and the resources to create weapons of mass destruction, and our leaders have opened our borders to masses of people belonging to terrorist groups. We are on the brink of a serious disaster, with no way to defend ourselves. Our steel mills, mines, coal and gas resources, are non-functional for the most part. We do not have food stored up for the hard times to come. Our leaders have sold us out. (something we should pray about without ceasing)
These are evil times. I am trying to build up my faith, and to draw near to God. It is not doom and gloom that I speak of. I am excited to be catapulted into events that will strengthen my faith, and cause me to cling to my Lord. I will see His power displayed! When I am weak, He is strong! These things will increase my faith!
Dear Lord, thank you for giving us understanding about the end times. Help us to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and to put Your word in our hearts, so that we will not be deceived. You will return, so help us to look up, and watch for our Redeemer. Help us not to lose hope, or wax cold from all the tragic things happening. You are our hope, our shield, and our refuge. Amen.
