Power in the Word

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

This has been a favorite verse of mine.

Many years ago, when I was going through a really difficult time, my sister wrote a letter to me with this verse. I grabbed hold of it, and put it in my heart.

This verse leaped off the pages of the Bible, and gave me hope, confidence, strength, and power. It was not my own power, it was God’s strength in me.

That’s what God’s word does! There is real power in the words of the Bible.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the mighty, powerful words that You share with us. At just the right time, You know what we need. Your words give us strength and encouragement, instruction, and wisdom. Amen.
