And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. and God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind ; and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. Genesis 1: 20-23
The fifth day, creatures of the water, and birds of the air, were created.
Whales, seals, octopus, starfish, salmon, tuna, and so many more ocean creatures came alive on day five. Then, the birds: the toucan, dove, raven, eagle, thrush, and so many more beautiful birds, each with their own melodious song flew above the earth.
What wonders! I have seen killer whales in the waters of the Inland Passage, on the way from Seattle, Washington, to Glacier Bay, Alaska. I saw humpback whales leaping from the water, breaching, where there were masses of krill on top of the water. I saw dolphins swim lightning fast keeping pace with the ship, a smile on their faces, as they gracefully flew through the water.
As we got closer to Glacier Bay, there were puffins on the water, — funny looking birds that reminded me of a penguin, or a cartoon character. Then, north of Haines, AK, we saw eagles line the piers, looking out over the water for their catch of the day.
In Northern Idaho, we have rivers and lakes full of salmon and trout, perch and bass, and they are so tasty!
Idaho’s birds are many and varied: bluebirds, cedar waxwings, magpies, jays, orioles, killdeers, wrens, swallows, eagles, hawks, wild turkeys, vultures, and so many more.
God truly filled the sky and the waters with such interesting creatures!
My family went to Hawaii, and saw all kinds of different types of birds and tropical fish. A whole different variety!
These creatures were blessed by God. They were told to multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and the birds were told to multiply. They did!
I love visiting the ocean tide pools and seeing the starfish, urchins, and anemone.
Our great creator — God, His fingerprints of creation are left on these wonderful creatures, — birds and sea life. I am so glad He created all this for our enjoyment. His gifts of love, good gifts, perfect gifts, are so wonderful!
Again, I thank You, God! You are so amazing and wonderful! I read of the creation with delight, thinking of Your handiwork. Thank You!!!!
