Prayers, Peace, and Pure Thoughts:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

….Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just , whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:7,8)

I thought this was terrific advice to put in my mind before the Christmas season. It is easy to get busy and concerned, and to think negatively, to feel rushed, and anxious during the holidays.

However, we are not to be anxious, but prayerful and thankful, and to present our requests to God.

I am not sure why, but prayer sometimes is the last resort, when it should be the first.

What peace we have in knowing God will take care of everything. He will keep our hearts and minds peaceful through Jesus.

We are urged finally, to think on truthful, honest things, on just things, pure things, lovely things, and things that have a good report. We are to fill our minds with virtuous things, and with praise.

Prayers, Petitions, and good thoughts are all helpful in the peace process.

Thanks for everything, dear God, and for the ability to come to You in prayer! Help me to remember this advice daily. There is so much concern and anxiety in the world. I pray for the peace which surpasses understanding, through Christ Jesus, and for Your protection. Thank You! Amen.
