Celebrate Christ Together!

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, whereas is excess, but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; submitting yourselves, one to another in the fear of God. Ephesians 5:17-21

Christmas is a time to celebrate Jesus!

That makes me want to sing and fellowship with my Christian brothers and sisters! The gift giving has been accomplished, that great package of salvation has been opened, the Christmas lights dazzle me, and the beautiful songs are on my lips as familiar Christmas melodies play.

We don’t need to be drunk with wine, but filled with the Spirit! That is a kind of Christmas celebration that one wants to remember.

The smells of Christmas– the aroma of cinnamon and spices, sugar cookies, egg nog, a savory roast, with fresh vegetables. The sweetness and fragrances of brightly lit candles, the colors of gold, silver, greens, and bright reds, the tinsel glittering and shimmering like a host of angels, making everything bright, — the beauty of Christmas!!!

These verses in Ephesians remind me to celebrate often with my Christian family! Every day is a time to celebrate Jesus!

Dear Lord, I pray that You would bless my brothers and sisters. I pray that you would bring them comfort, joy, and encouragement. I pray for peace that surpasses understanding in their lives. Help them to enjoy this wonderful time of celebration that honors You. Forgive us, and cleanse us of sins, that we might shine bright and clean and beautiful. Please clothe us with Your holiness, In Your Name, Amen.
