The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Psalms 19:1-3
I wish I had been there when the angels announced the birth of Jesus to the shepherds in the field!
Can you imagine the sky lighting up with the glory of a host of angels? Can you imagine hearing true heavenly music, and the announcement that the Savior of the World was born? Brightness, singing, glory, good news of great joy, how absolutely marvelous!
This verse in Psalms tells us that God displays His handiwork in the heavens.
When we see the black canvas at night, sprinkled with the stars of the Milky Way, or see Orion, or the Big Dipper, or the North Star, they are a fingerprint of God.
When we see the sun rise with spectacular colors, or a rainbow arch across the emerald green spring grasses, or when we see the last rays of sun highlight the sky with bright hues,or the sunshine reflect off the glassy water surfaces, we are seeing the wonders of heaven, and the handiwork of God.
The northern lights that dance in the cold winter skies of the north, the sapphire blue skies that stand brilliant against fall foliage, the planets that have been photographed by NASA, are all wondrous and amazing!
They do not need speech to declare God to us. They stand as silent wonders of an amazing architect.
We weren’t around when the Pyramids were built, or Stonehenge, or the Incan ruins, They were amazing feats of their time.Historians tell us they were built by early man.
There are people who refuse to recognize the handiwork of God, or give Him acknowledgement for His great works.
I choose to honor God, and give Him glory for what He’s done! God’s design speaks for itself, without words. God is amazing!
The angels would have been nice to hear and see at the birth of Jesus, but I am reminded daily of the presence of my God.
Oh Lord, How wonderful, how marvelous are Your works! The heavens declare Your glory! Thank You for sunsets, sunrises, rainbows, northern lights, and so much more! I acknowledge You! Please forgive all my sins, I too forgive others as You forgave me, I pray that Your Kingdom would come, and Your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us each day our daily provisions, Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Thine is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, Forever and Ever! Amen.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
