The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. Psalm 53:1
We travel on shaky ground when we listen to advice from those who God calls fools. People who claim there is no God, people who despise wisdom and instruction, and people who are wise in their own eyes, are ones we would not want to take advice from.
Yet many who really need advice and help are going to ungodly, immoral people, and even paying them to solve their problems.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge—-start with the Lord, with prayer, and petition, and with thanksgiving, make your requests known to Him.
That is how we solve big problems–by realizing how weak we are, and asking for strength and help from our powerful LORD! In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct Your paths!
If we refuse to acknowledge God, we are fools and will do foolish things. We might even cause others to do foolish things with our foolish advice. Get wisdom by going to God who has wisdom, and gives freely to those who ask for it.
By the way these words of wisdom in the verses in Proverbs come from a man, Solomon, who was considered the wisest King. He asked God for wisdom, and did many great things. How many great things we could do too, if we only asked God for His wisdom first!
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Proverbs 3:13-15
Oh Lord, I pray for Your wonderful wisdom. Guide me, lead me, walk beside me! Draw near to me. Help those who need help, as there are many deceivers and unbelievers in the world. Keep us safe in You, protect us and teach us Your ways! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
