2 Corinthians 5:20,21
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
What an enormous wonderful thing Jesus did! My sins alone were burdens too heavy to bear, but He took on the sins of the whole world!
In previous posts I said that Jesus is a Super Hero! He not only took upon himself my sins, but my punishment! He was whipped, slapped, insulted, bruised, cursed, his beard plucked out, He was mocked, and nailed to a cross on my behalf. Jesus was stabbed in His side, where water, mixed with blood, flowed freely. He died. He went into the belly of the earth, to the depths of hell for my sins, and it was there that he defeated death and hell, and rose again with the only set of keys!!!
He alone has the power to convict or redeem us. He was even kind enough to allow us to make that choice of whether we wanted forgiveness. We can accept Him as our Savior, and have mercy, forgiveness, and life, or we can deny him and ultimately, die in our sins.
We, who believe, are His ambassadors, and are given the wonderful task of telling others about what Jesus did! To be able to tell people how to have life and fellowship with God is very admirable!
We do not have to be perfect speakers, or perfect people, but we do have to know Christ, who is perfect.
Jase Robertson wrote about this verse in the Duck Commander Devotional, and used a good analogy to being an ambassador for Christ. He compared it to fishing. He said Jesus is the lure, we are the reel, and God is the one in control of it all.
Thank you, Jesus, for this special task of spreading the gospel. It is a privilege to tell people about You. You saved me, You took my punishment, and You defeated death and hell. I cannot even describe how much I love You for doing that! You are my Super Hero! Your love towards us is so amazing! No one else could do what You did! Amen.
