Beyond Measure:

Psalm 103:8-13 (KJV)

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

What mercy, what grace, what love God has for us!

If God is angry toward us, His anger will not last forever. Though He reprimands us, He will not leave us, or scold us continuously.

It is very reassuring that God will not deal with us according to our iniquities, or because of our sins. His mercy is so great towards us who ‘fear’ Him, that the measure of His mercy is higher than the heavens are above the earth.

He has removed our sins as far as the east is from the west! (That would be very difficult to measure, as it would be infinite, because those directions will never meet.)

Finally, verse 13 states that God ‘pities’ us like a father ‘pities’ (feels sorry for the misfortunes of) his children. He knows we are human. We make mistakes, although it would be great if we didn’t. He understands us. He wants the best for us. He loves us tremendously!

How amazing is that? God loves us with a love beyond measure!

Dear God, I pray for Your will to be done. You are so amazing! I cannot even understand the enormous love You have for Your children. Help me to please You with this life You’ve given me. Use it for Your glory! In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
