A Prayer for the Ephesians (Ephesians 3:14-20)
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
This is such a beautiful prayer that Paul shared with the Christians in Ephesus. This is my prayer for all my Christian brothers and sisters too. What love Jesus Christ has for us!
I went for a walk in the woods with our dogs today.
If you came with me, you would have enjoyed the beautiful signs of spring in the mountains. White Glacier Lilies, Pink Shooting Star Flowers, Purple Chiming Bells, and miniature violets were blooming on the side of the road. The little creek was full and bubbling over its rocky path through the culverts. Little tadpoles were swimming in the muddy puddles of tire tracks. Clusters of new pine needle shoots were budding on the tamaracks, and the raspberry bushes had tiny new leaves. Even new strawberry plants were growing along the banks. I watched a few butterflies fluttering, and heard a turkey gobble. I also saw several rabbits that were running and enticing the dogs.
I couldn’t help think of how beautiful God made this world, and how He is preparing a place for us that is more wonderful than we could ever imagine. We will be in the presence of the Lord, Himself! That will be the most glorious experience of all!
Until that glorious day, I hope that you will grasp how enormously you are loved!
Dear God, I am amazed to see all the newness of the mountains unfold during the spring. The landscape looks so different with new variety. Thank you for creating this world! I pray for my sisters and brothers, that you will watch over them, keep them safe, and help them to know Your great love towards them. Establish us in peace. Keep us from temptation, and deliver us from evil. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
