Timothy 6:20-21 (The Message)
And oh, my dear Timothy, guard the treasure you were given! Guard it with your life. Avoid the talk-show religion and the practiced confusion of the so-called experts. People caught up in a lot of talk can miss the whole point of faith.
Overwhelming grace keep you!
I also want to post these verses from the NIV
Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith.
Grace be with you all.
I really think Paul gave Timothy great advice here. There is so much talk and chatter, and false knowledge, and if you listen to it all, you could easily be deceived. Look to the Bible, God’s Word, for the answers to life’s problems. It really is the best instruction book you can find.
Proverbs 19:20: Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.
Just be careful where you get that advice and counsel. A lot of people claim to have the answers, but they are the blind, leading the blind. Don’t listen, you might fall into a pit.
Dear God, I seek Your counsel and instruction, and ask for knowledge and wisdom that comes from You. I pray for Your Holy Spirit, and the gifts of patience, long-suffering, brotherly kindness, love, peace, and joy. Thank You for the hope within me. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
