Romans 12:3-5 New International Version (NIV)
Humble Service in the Body of Christ
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
I had an interesting conversation with my husband today. He told me about a man who was bitten by a spider many years ago. His leg turned dark where he was bitten. He didn’t feel good.
A doctor, who believed in natural medicine, prescribed a powder made with ground up cockroaches and other things. This man told my husband that he felt better after taking it, and he keeps some around, just in case something happens.
Cockroaches! Who would have guessed they could be good for anything?
I searched Google, and sure enough, the Chinese have cockroach farms, and sell them to pharmaceutical companies.
Sharks are also used in medicines. There is usefulness in even the strange creatures of this world.
God did not make things by mistake. All of His Creation was made with a purpose in mind. He thoughtfully designed this world.
I read once that scientists spent billions to design a self sustaining world, but they forgot to add enough bacteria to deal with the waste in their utopia. They could not accomplish a mini self-sustaining world.
Every one of us was made with purpose. Maybe you don’t feel that you are important? You are! In God’s eyes, you have worth. He sent His own Son to die for everyone who would believe on Him. God loves you! You will always have purpose in His world!
Each member is important in the body of Christ, and each function is needed.
Thank You, God, that You created this world with such a grand design! You are our Creator! Help us to know Your will for our lives, and to do what You have called us to do. In the wonderful name of Jesus, Amen.
