Christ’s Love Compels Us:

2 Corinthians 5:14,15

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

This evening I was reading a devotional by, ‘Our Daily Bread‘ Ministries.

It was called, ‘Motivated By Love’.

In this devotional, Bill Crowder stated that we are shaped and fashioned by what we love most.

For Christ’s love compels us…means that Christ’s love forces. or obliges us, to no longer live for ourselves, but for him who died for us and was raised again.

Sometimes love requires us to react strongly and urgently. Jesus showed us perfect love, but He was crucified by this world. If we follow the life of Christ, and love others, people will hate us too, because they hated Christ first.

…To live is Christ, to die is gain.

Dear God, I pray that my love for You would compel me to live for You. I pray for Your will to be done. Thank You for Your great love! In the name of Jesus, Amen.
