Eternity in a Bottle:

Bottle

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. Psalm 90:4

Just think how time for God is so different! Our lifetime might be seventy or eighty years on average, but that is like a breath to God.

This verse makes me think of the lyrics to the Jim Croce song “Time in a Bottle”.

We cannot save time. It continues to press on and change things. Nothing really stays the same. We need to make every opportunity to ‘save in our eternal bottle’ the things that are really important.

The things that are lasting and beneficial, are faith, hope and love!

“Time In A Bottle”

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I’d like to do
Is to save every day till eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I’d save every day like a treasure and then
Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do, once you find them
I’ve looked around enough to know
That you’re the one I want to go through time with

If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty, except for the memory of how
They were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do, once you find them
I’ve looked around enough to know
That you’re the one I want to go through time with

Know what really matters, and don’t waste a second of this life God gave you!
Dear Lord, thanks so much for everything. We are not guaranteed of our time on this earth. Help us not to waste one second on things that don’t matter. Help us to know what is important, and spend our time preparing for eternity with You.
In Your precious name, Amen.
