Train Up a Child:

what is good

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

This verse is another ‘monumental’ verse. So many of the world’s problems could be solved if children had good direction in life. Someone has to show them the way.

If we leave our kids to be educated by the world, they will learn worldly ways. Instilling Godly values when a child is young, is so important!

Children are priceless! They are a treasure! Each one has much value and worth!

To train a child up, we have to have wisdom about the direction we want our kids to go.We know what will make our children happy– to live life the way God intended them to. The greatest thing a man can do, is to love God with all his heart, mind, strength, and soul, and to love others. Other things that are a blessing, are to be married, and to have children. To have work that one loves to do, is also good.

Children who have a good foundation can build good lives! It starts with a relationship with our Creator, God.

We know what God wants from us:– to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

We are seeing the effects of bad parenting, broken homes, a generation that is falling away from the Lord. Let’s pray for children, parents, the family unit, that God would have mercy, and forgive us for not valuing our children and home life as we should. It is breaking our nation.

Oh, God, I pray for the children of this wicked generation. Help them. They are suffering for the sins of their parents. Forgive us God. Help us to value our children, our parents, our neighbors, and all people, the men and women who You have created. You have a purpose and plan for each of us. Help us to follow You, to desire You, to love You with all our strength, heart, mind, and soul! You are worthy, Oh God. Please give us the wisdom to give our kids leadership and training in righteousness, that they would not depart from Your way when they are old. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

  1. Hey Dawn. Great post! Thank you. Been reminded recently the store Jesus puts on children. Besides recommending their faith was to be sought after He also said if anyone hurts one of these little ones – better for them to have a millstone tied round his neck and dropped into the sea! So people who abuse children and think they’ve got away with their crime WILL be recompensed. Sobering thought indeed.
