Still Small Voice:

1 Kings 19:11-14 (King James Version) Bible Gateway

11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:

12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?

Elijah was feeling alone. He was a prophet of God during the reign of an evil King and Queen.

Elijah was not alone. God was with him, and soon, “Elisha” would be a faithful companion.

When I read this verse, I think of ‘the still small voice’ of God, and how He wasn’t in the earthquake, or the great strong wind, or the fire.

Elijah heard that whisper of God, covered his face, and stood at the entrance of the cave he was in.

God asked Elijah what he was doing in the cave?

Then God gave Elijah some specific directions of things he should do.

He would anoint a king and a prophet. He was also told by God that there were 7,000 faithful people who had not bowed their knees to Baal, a false god.

Elijah obeyed God, and did as he was told.

I look for God in the miraculous events, but He is also in the every day events that whisper His presence. New birth, healing, restoration, deliverance, sometimes happen in uneventful ordinary ways over a period of time, unassuming.

The birth of Jesus is an example. He was born in a small stable to people who were not well known, and he chose common fishermen, and men of little renown, to carry His message to the world.

Look for God in the little whispers. Acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

Thank You, God, for this passage of scripture. Help us to hear Your voice, listen, and follow Your commands. I know there are many people who love You, and I pray for Your protection and encouragement. I pray for Your help, and for Your will to be done. It is an encouragement to know that You are with us, and that You are the director of all men. Your purpose will prevail. Amen.

Carnal or Spiritual; Death or Life:

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:6

Definition of CARNAL from Merriam Webster Online Dictionary:
a :  relating to or given to crude bodily pleasures and appetites
b :  marked by sexuality <carnal love>

God’s Word stands. It is a promise to us. In this verse, we are advised that a carnal mind is death. A mind filled with crude sexual pleasures and appetites is death.

We are bombarded in the news, in movies, in the various forms of media, with people sporting a carnal mind. Even in politics, the message that is forced upon us is that we should live a carnal lifestyle, and accept it. Maybe politicians don’t read or react to God’s Word, but it is clear that this nature and mindset is death.

What is life and peace?—To be spiritually minded.

Here are some of the definitions for spiritual:

1. Of, relating to, consisting of, or having the nature of spirit; not material; supernatural: spiritual power.
2. Of, concerned with, or affecting the soul: spiritual guidance; spiritual growth.
3. Not concerned with material or worldly things: led a spiritual life.
4. Of or belonging to a religion; sacred: spiritual practices; spiritual music.
The Words of Jesus in Matthew 4:4:
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoeverthings are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoeverthings are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

It is important what we think. It leads to life and peace, or death.

Let us be Spiritually minded, and have life and peace!

Dear God, I pray that You would help me to think on good, lovely, honest, virtuous, praiseworthy, and ‘just’ things. Fill my mind with spiritual songs. Help me to meditate on Your Words. Keep me from evil thoughts and a carnal mind. Thank You for Your forgiveness, love, and mercy. In the name of Jesus, amen.

I am going to be gone for a week, but will return, God willing, with some stories of my adventures.

May God be with you all and may He encourage you in your faith.

Transformers, A Post from, “The River Walk” Blog:

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Today, I was reminded of a post I read almost a year ago. You can read it here:

Beejai wrote an article about the movie, ‘Transformers’, and how they could have been better prepared for war with different weapons and types of vehicles. He related how we, as Christians, aren’t as effective as we could be either. Instead of imitating the world, we should grab hold of the power from our heavenly home. It is time to transform ourselves to be better, more effective Christians.

From Beejai’s post:

React: I know, I know. It’s only a movie. There’s no need to get all worked up about a work of fiction. But part of the reason I get worked up is because we are autobots. Like them, we belong to another world, another kingdom. Like them we have a mission and a responsibility to save the people on this planet. Like my complaint of them, we aren’t nearly as effective as we could be. We are so busy imitating the things of this world that we neglect the power from our home in the heavens that we could be tapping into. It’s time to transform. God help me to transform.

Like Beejai’s prayer,

Lord, transform me to be an effective witness for You. Fill me with Your power, and the presence of Your Holy Spirit. I pray for Your help, protection, and wisdom. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.

Our Advantage. The Other Helper.

Victoria ( has written a wonderful article on the Holy Spirit.
In the article she declares, “Right there I began to feel needy, poor and desperate, knowing that I needed the Holy Spirit, He is my portion and I was not to neglect or minimize Him but take Him as He is and enjoy the advantage that Christ left me with.”
Let us recognize the worth of the Holy Spirit in our Christian life, and understand how beneficial He is to us, so that we can have a vibrant, powerful, on-fire, close relationship with the LORD!
Thanks Victoria!

If This Is Your Last Day On Earth

In this short article from (The Kings Kid Chronicles), Aleta Kay gives us some things to consider. What do we believe about death, and if this is our last day on earth, how are we going to live it? As Christians, will our meager efforts make a difference for good? Aleta ends with her personal response to the question, ‘ what if this were her last day on earth’. Thanks Aleta for the article, and for spreading the gospel message!

“Death Comes As The End” is the title of one of Agatha Christie’s novels. It’s a catchy title but it isn’t true. I know: there are many different beliefs around the world about death. Most of them are comforting and untrue. Some people believe we just keep coming back to life in another form or as another person, until we finally get it right, and earn our way to the blissful, peaceful wherever.

Others believe that everyone goes to heaven when they die. They reason that a good God would never really send anyone to hell. Since these folks believe in a celestial grandfather who never does anything about bad attitudes, bad behavior or sin, we will all magically be perfect and be allowed entrance into heaven.

Many people believe that when we die, that’s it. It’s over. You lived your life and there are no consequences good or bad…

It’s Inside Of You

This is a great post, and we need to hear this often. God gives us the power we need to live out our Christian lives. Satan wants to keep us confused and perplexed so we neglect to grasp the treasure that God has hidden deep inside of us. The Holy Spirit of God will reveal to us the deep things of God. Thanks Shamel for this article.

Desire Jesus

God has put everything we need inside of us, we often look outside of ourselves for answers to the circumstances of everyday life. Perhaps we should sweep our hearts and embark on a spiritual cleansing, and look inside our spirit like the woman looking for her lost silver coin (Luke 15:8-10).

The enemy Satan wants to keep us upset, confused and tossed like an untamed sea. Throwing us about with circumstances and external situations, perhaps he understands that if he keeps us perplexed that we would in fact neglect to grasp the treasure that God has hidden deep inside of us. Say what Jesus said ” Get behind me Satan”(Luke 4:8).

I come in the name of Jesus to tell you that God has given you the answer to your every care, every need, every concern. Stop looking outside of yourself because beloved the answer is not there but “inside…

Warn Them:

Luke 21: 10-12

10 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

12 “But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name.

Ezekiel 3:18

When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.

We cannot be silent in the midst of evil. As we see these things approaching, the famines, pestilences, fearful events, great signs from heaven, Christians being persecuted for their faith, we need to tell sinners that they will surely die, and warn them, trying to dissuade them from their evil ways, in order to save their lives. We do not want a wicked person to die for their sins, and we will be held accountable for their blood.

Now for some of the news, it has already been hidden from view. I called the Idaho Governor’s office to tell them of a WND article about refugees from Somalia coming to Boise, and how Homeland Security could not screen them for illegal activity in their home countries, because of the civil unrest. The Boise Mayor took seed money from George Soros, $150,000 to put these refugees into communities near Boise. The United Nations was sending the refugees to countries, and demanding that they take them, and deal with the cost of re-homing them.

The other article I read was about thousands of Snow Geese that fell from the sky in Eastern Idaho. They supposedly died while heading from Mexico to Alaska, of a Avian Cholera. The video was disturbing and sad.  That story can be found here:

The first story bothered me because our walls in the United States, the laws that once protected us from illegal immigrants, and from lawlessness, have broken down. If Homeland Security cannot screen these men and women to make sure they are safe to enter our country, they should not be allowed to enter.

Next, The U.N. should not dictate who the U.S. should allow into our country.

Lastly, seed money from George Soros should not be used to buy our elected officials to do unlawful things that will harm our citizens, and force our citizens to pick up the cost of education, health care, housing, and other financial burdens for these refugees.

The other story of the snow geese, reminds me of the pestilences that the book of Luke talks about. Bird flues and viruses are rampant all over our country. It is no longer safe to eat beef, chicken, turkey, pork, or other meat in the supermarkets. Our garden produce is also manipulated and unsafe to to gmo and pesticides, and herbicides.

If you have not received Jesus as your Savior, or asked Him to forgive your sins, now is the time. We are all sinners, and without Christ, we cannot approach God. Jesus provides us with the covering we need for God accept us. Ask Jesus for His help today! God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should have life.

Dear God, today I pray for sinners. I pray that they would see their need for Your salvation. I pray they would hear Your words, that they would fall on good ground, and that they would produce a spiritual harvest for you. Please make me a good ambassador for You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
