My schedule changed at my job, but I was looking at the old one, so I went to work yesterday. I was there an hour, before I realized I wasn’t supposed to be. It was kind of nice to know I could go home, rest, and relax.
I took my son and his friend out to eat, then went to a thrift store to look around.
My son went to the river to swim with his friend, as it was so hot.
I decided to go out and lay in a hammock, under our shady maple trees. It felt so good, and I fell asleep. It was like God was cradling me in His big arms, and the world was at peace.
Unfortunately, while I was laying there, atrocities were occurring. Christians were being beheaded for their faith, babies were murdered by abortion, the elderly were being abused by the people they are paying to care for them. People are defying their Creator, God, and living such sinful lives, and children are suffering for the sins of their parents. Not all is well in the world.
Soon, the Lord will return to earth in judgment. That is a fact. It will be a dreadful day for many people, and it breaks my heart that people refuse to see their sins, turn from them, repent, and be saved from that day, and from God’s terrible judgment.
The four horsemen of the apocalypse paint a very frightening picture. There is a horsemen on a white horse, set out for conquest, to take over the nations. The one on the fiery red horse takes away peace from the earth, and people kill each other.The rider on the black horse brings in poverty, as things of necessity rise in price.
The last horse is pale, and the rider is Death, and Hell is not far behind him. He has the power over a fourth of the earth to kill by famine, sword, plague, and wild beasts.
Already we can see these things happen. ISIS is killing God’s people. They are being beheaded for their faith. Treaties are being made by leaders who are bent on an unholy conquest for a One World Order. The price of necessities have risen considerably, and without the aid of government programs, many people cannot afford the things they need.
There are famines, plagues, and people killing each other. It is hard to find peace on earth. There is a rise of reports of animals killing people. Go to http://realtruth.org/articles/101101-002-environment.html to read more about wild beast attacks occurring more often.
Right after the Supreme Court decision to legalize same sex marriages, there was a violent thunderstorm localized to the D.C. area. People described it as the most frightening storm they had witnessed. There is scorching heat in the Northwestern United States. California, the place where many of our crops are raised, is in a severe drought.
It is time to get right with God, if you haven’t already. These things are all frightening, but God’s wrath at the end, will be the most frightening as Revelation 6 tells us:
12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. 14 The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us[f] from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of their[g] wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”
People will try to hide from God, but they cannot. They want to die for fear, but they cannot. They will meet their Maker, God, and without Christ in them, they will face a terrible punishment.
It doesn’t have to be that way, because God is willing to forgive. Just repent, turn from your sins. Ask for God’s grace and forgiveness. Jesus Christ took your punishment and mine, and has the power to forgive us our sins. He is not desiring that anyone perish, but that all have life, and have it abundantly.
Dear God, I pray that people will repent, before that terrible day of judgment. You have given people so much opportunity to know You, and accept Your great forgiveness, but for those who have not heard the gospel, I pray for workers for the harvest. I pray for souls to be saved, for people to accept the forgiveness that Jesus offers us. I pray for Your mercy, and that You would be with us, protect us from evil, and from the evil one, and keep us from being deceived. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
